COURT ADJOURNS SUIT CHALLENGING IYABO OBASANJO’S PDP CANDIDACY TILL NOVEMBER 3

The Federal High Court in Abeokuta has adjourned until November 3, 2026, a suit challenging Senator Iyabo Obasanjo’s recognition as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ogun Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general election.

The suit, filed by Sogbesan Amoo, another PDP aspirant for the ticket, came up on Tuesday, September 29, before Justice Okeke.

Amoo is challenging the publication of Obasanjo’s name by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), alleging that she was not on the party’s membership register submitted to the commission and did not participate in the senatorial primary.

The plaintiff is asking the court to determine whether the requirements for her recognition as the party’s candidate were met.

The matter was adjourned for further mention following proceedings concerning service of court documents.

The suit remains pending, and the allegations have not been determined by the court.

OLOFIN OF ADO-ODO PALACE CLARIFIES LADI ADEBUTU’S VISIT TO OLOTA, SAYS MEETING DID NOT REPRESENT ALL AWORI OBAS The Palace of the Olofin Adimula of Ado-Odo has clarified the recent visit of the PDP Governorship Candidate, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, to the Palace of the Olota of Ota, reportedly in connection with an “Awori Obas Forum.” In a statement signed by Chief Kazeem Akinsola Nasir, Ìríjú Oba of Ado-Odo and Secretary to the Palace, the palace said the gathering should not be interpreted as representing all Awori traditional rulers in Ogun State. SO-SAFE CORPS SMASHES DIESEL THEFT SYNDICATE IN ILARO, ARRESTS THREE SUSPECTS

Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) have arrested three suspects allegedly involved in the theft and illegal purchase of diesel meant for a road construction project along Sokoto Road, Idogo, in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area. According to the Corps, the operation followed weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance after reports emerged that diesel allocated for the road project was being diverted and sold to a criminal network. Acting on credible intelligence, officers laid an ambush and intercepted the suspects after a dramatic chase.
