5,000 PDP MEMBERS DEFECT TO APC IN OGUN

The political landscape in Ado-Odo/Ota continues to witness a major realignment as Hon.Oluwaseyi Ayantola Ojugbele, the PDP candidate for Ota State Constituency in the 2023 House of Assembly election, officially joins the YAYI Train.

No fewer than 5,000 members and stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State have reportedly defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors, said to be drawn largely from Ogun West Senatorial District, were formally received into the APC on Sunday at Agunloye Pavilion, Ilaro, Yewa South LGA.

Among the notable PDP figures reported to have joined the APC are former Ogun PDP Chairman Sikirullahi Ogundele,

former Publicity Secretary Akinloye Bankole,

former Youth Leader Oyejide Sukanmi,

former Women Leader Kemi Adeyemi, and others.

Speaking at the event, Ogundele cited what he described as “political slavery” within the PDP as one of the reasons for his decision to leave the party.

His comments reflect his stated position and should not be taken as an independent assessment of the PDP.

What do you think about this latest political movement in Ogun West?
