Residents of Ota, Ogun State, came out in large numbers today for a Free Medical Outreach held at the Palace of the Olota of Ota, organized by Omooba Boluwatife Adeyanju as part of activities marking his birthday celebration. The Ogun State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping, successfully rescuing a victim who was abducted on June 11 at Ogbe Village. According to police authorities, the victim regained freedom unharmed on June 18 following a coordinated operation by the Command's Anti-Kidnapping Unit. During the operation, two suspected kidnappers were neutralised after reportedly engaging security operatives in a gun battle. Residents of Egbe Subair, near the residence of late politician Buruji Kashamu in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, have been thrown into shock following the discovery of three lifeless bodies inside a home. The deceased were identified as a woman, her son, and a man popularly known in the community as Ope "Shanko." According to reports, the woman and Ope were found dead inside a toilet, while the woman's son was discovered lifeless in one of the rooms within the same residence. Witnesses at the scene reported signs of disturbance, including damage to parts of the toilet and other household items, raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspects in Ijebu-Ode believed to be members of a kidnapping syndicate linked to the abduction and killing of two victims in Edo State. The suspects, identified as Gafaru Adamu (25) and Muhammed Sanni (20), were apprehended by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit during an intelligence-led operation in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode. According to police investigations, the duo are allegedly part of a seven-man gang connected to a kidnapping operation in Okada, Edo State, which reportedly resulted in the murder of two hostages. During the operation, officers recovered a pair of camouflage uniforms resembling police attire, along with three mobile phones suspected to be linked to the criminal activities. The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Johnson Elleh for allegedly creating and circulating a false video claiming that kidnappers and bandits were operating along the Owode–Idiroko axis. According to police authorities, investigations revealed that the viral video was misleading and did not reflect any actual kidnapping or banditry incident in the area. The Command stated that the content was deliberately designed to create fear and panic among residents. Detectives later identified and arrested Elleh, who was reportedly featured in the video. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect created the content to attract attention and boost engagement on social media.
