Residents of Egbe Subair, near the residence of late politician Buruji Kashamu in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, have been thrown into shock following the discovery of three lifeless bodies inside a home.
The deceased were identified as a woman, her son, and a man popularly known in the community as Ope "Shanko."
According to reports, the woman and Ope were found dead inside a toilet, while the woman's son was discovered lifeless in one of the rooms within the same residence.
Witnesses at the scene reported signs of disturbance, including damage to parts of the toilet and other household items, raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
Although unconfirmed reports suggest possible poisoning, authorities have not yet established the cause of death.
Police officers and other security personnel have since visited the scene, commenced investigations, and gathered evidence to determine what led to the deaths.
The incident attracted a large crowd of residents, many expressing disbelief and calling for a thorough investigation into the tragedy.
The bodies have been evacuated and deposited at a morgue, while authorities continue their inquiries.
