ADO-ODO/OTA LAWMAKERS SUMMON LG CHAIRMAN, DEMAND ACTION ON SECURITY, SANITATION AND ROAD SAFETY

The Ado-Odo/Ota Legislative Council has called on the Executive Chairman of the Local Government to take urgent steps in addressing key challenges affecting residents, including environmental sanitation, security, road safety, and boundary disputes.

During a legislative session held at the Council Chamber, councillors stressed the need for cleaner communities through improved waste management and environmental policies, while also urging stronger collaboration with security agencies to enhance the safety of lives and property across the local government.

The lawmakers expressed concern over the rising number of motorcycle-related accidents and called for the installation of speed bumps and other traffic-calming measures on major roads.

They also raised concerns over recurring boundary disputes involving neighbouring local governments and Lagos border communities, warning against issues such as double taxation and jurisdictional conflicts.

Responding to the concerns, the Executive Chairman assured the Council that immediate attention would be given to all matters raised and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of residents and delivering effective governance.

The Legislative Council reiterated its dedication to providing oversight and working with the executive arm in the overall interest of the people of Ado-Odo/Ota.
