RE: FALSE ALLEGATIONS AND MISLEADING NARRATIVES ON ADO-ODO/OTA STATE CONSTITUENCY I

PRESS STATEMENT

The attention of Hon. Okikiola Olundegun has been drawn to a publication currently circulating in the public space, containing false, malicious, and misleading allegations aimed at discrediting his person and undermining his growing acceptance among the good people of Ado-Odo/Ota.

Ordinarily, such baseless claims would have been ignored. However, in the interest of truth, transparency, and respect for the people, it has become necessary to respond and set the record straight.

Hon. Okikiola Olundegun categorically states that he has never been involved in internet fraud or any criminal activity whatsoever. These allegations are entirely false, defamatory, and a desperate attempt to tarnish a credible and hardworking individual.

He is a reputable entrepreneur and employer of labour, serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Kiekies Bakery, Afro Sheen Industries Limited, and SandandSeas Construction legitimate businesses contributing meaningfully to economic growth and youth empowerment.

For clarity, Hon. Okikiola Olundegun has never met Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun or Hon. Yemi Adelani (Igwe) in person, and any claims suggesting political imposition or backdoor arrangements are false and misleading.

On the issue of identity and ancestry, which has been deliberately misrepresented, the facts are clear and verifiable. Hon. Olundegun’s lineage is deeply rooted in Ota and the Awori heritage:
His great-grandmother, Umaani Ojuko, is from Iga Itimoko, Ota
Umaani Ojuko married into the Asanbe family of Iga Igboledo
Their union produced Tairat Asanbe (his grandmother), of Iga Igboledo
Tairat Asanbe married Rabiu Amoo Taiwo of Ilupewo
Their union produced Waliat Taiwo (his mother), of Ilupewo, Ota.

This clearly establishes a strong and traceable ancestral connection to Ota, affirming beyond doubt that he is a true son of the soil.
It is unfortunate that some individuals have resorted to spreading misinformation and promoting divisive narratives rather than engaging in constructive, issue-based politics. The people of Ado-Odo/Ota deserve truth, unity, and responsible leadership.

Hon. Okikiola Olundegun remains committed to the progress, unity, and development of Ado-Odo/Ota State Constituency I. He urges the public to disregard falsehoods and remain focused on credible leadership built on integrity, competence, and service.

Signed:

Hon. Okikiola Olundegun Abayomi
Aspirant,
Ogun State House of Assembly,
Ado-Odo/Ota State Constituency I.
