OGUN 2027: Gbenga Daniel Withdraws From APC Senatorial Primaries

Former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Senator Gbenga Daniel, has officially withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries ahead of today’s exercise.

The decision, announced on Sunday, follows growing political developments within the party and is widely seen as a move that clears the way for Governor Dapo Abiodun’s preferred direction in the Ogun East contest.

Supporters of the former governor under the BATOGD Movement also confirmed their withdrawal from the primaries, signaling a major shift in the political landscape of Ogun APC.

In recent months, both political figures had exchanged strong words over governance issues and constituency projects, further fueling tensions within the party.

Daniel’s withdrawal now reshapes the Ogun East senatorial race as party members prepare for the APC primaries today.

SO-SAFE CORPS SMASHES DIESEL THEFT SYNDICATE IN ILARO, ARRESTS THREE SUSPECTS

Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) have arrested three suspects allegedly involved in the theft and illegal purchase of diesel meant for a road construction project along Sokoto Road, Idogo, in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area. According to the Corps, the operation followed weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance after reports emerged that diesel allocated for the road project was being diverted and sold to a criminal network. Acting on credible intelligence, officers laid an ambush and intercepted the suspects after a dramatic chase.
