Ogun State has been thrown into mourning following the passing of the Grand Chief Imam of Yewaland and President of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ogun State, Sheikh Sikirulai Babalola, who died at the age of 98.
The revered Islamic scholar and community leader dedicated his life to the service of Islam, humanity, peace, and spiritual guidance. For decades, Sheikh Babalola remained a respected voice across Yewaland and Ogun State, known for his wisdom, humility, discipline, and fatherly counsel.
His death marks the end of a significant era in the Muslim community, but his legacy of faith, scholarship, unity, and peaceful coexistence will continue to inspire generations to come.
Condolences have continued to pour in from religious leaders, political figures, traditional rulers, and members of the Muslim Ummah across the state.
