Meet the Visionary Behind the JB Unity Cup Movement

In Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, a powerful movement is quietly reshaping the future of young people through football. At the center of this initiative is Ajibola Jeremiah Adenuga, a hospitality entrepreneur and CEO of JB Hotel and Suites, whose passion for community development gave birth to the fast-growing JB Unity Cup.

More than just a football competition, the JB Unity Cup is a platform designed to unite youths, inspire discipline, and create opportunities for emerging talents in Ota. According to Adenuga, the idea was inspired by his belief in the power of sports to positively engage young people and steer them away from negative influences.

Unlike typical local tournaments, the JB Unity Cup stands out with its strong focus on structure, fairness, and long-term impact. It is not just about winning trophies, but about building confidence, promoting unity, and fostering a sense of purpose among participants.

Driven by a desire to give back, Adenuga has invested in the project as a way of securing a better future for the next generation. He believes that many young people in Ota possess untapped potential, and with the right platform, they can achieve greatness.

Looking ahead, plans are underway to expand the tournament beyond its current level by attracting sponsors, increasing participation, improving facilities, and creating scouting opportunities for talented players. The vision is to make the JB Unity Cup one of the most recognized grassroots football tournaments in Ogun State and beyond.

He also called on sponsors and community leaders to support the initiative, describing it as an investment in the future, while encouraging young talents to stay focused, disciplined, and committed to their dreams.

As the JB Unity Cup continues to grow, it stands as a symbol of unity, hope, and opportunity — proving that with the right vision, football can become a powerful tool for change.
