The inauguration and opening ceremony of the Lisabi Cultural Art Exhibition was held at the Ake Amphitheatre, Ake Palace Grounds, Abeokuta, bringing together culture, history, and tradition in a grand display.
With the theme:
“Celebrating the Heritage, Arts, and Legacy of Lisabi Agbongbo-Akala and the Egba People,”
the event showcased the rich identity and historical pride of Egbaland.
The exhibition was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, alongside the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, the Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Matemilola, and other respected chiefs and dignitaries across Egbaland.
Guests were taken on a guided tour of the exhibition, which featured:

• Historical heritage displays
• Indigenous textiles and beadwork
• Egba culinary exhibits
The event forms part of activities lined up for the 2026 Lisabi Festival, a major cultural celebration of the Egba people.
