If you’re not seen online, you’re forgotten” — Media Entrepreneur Trains Ota Youths in Content Creation
Young people in Ota, Ogun State are currently learning how to turn their creativity into opportunity through a content creation training facilitated by media entrepreneur and creative director Yomi Oke-Asiwaju.
The training, which started earlier this week as part of a youth empowerment programme, focuses on helping participants understand the power of digital visibility and how content creation can open doors in today’s economy.
During the sessions, participants were taught different types of content including educational, entertainment, inspirational, and brand-focused content. They were also encouraged to discover and develop a niche that will help them stand out in the crowded digital space.
Unlike the usual lecture-style training, the sessions are highly interactive, featuring classroom participation, practical exercises, creative challenges, and games designed to make learning engaging and practical.
Many participants say the training has already helped them gain confidence and clarity about how they can use social media not just for fun, but as a platform for influence and income.
Observers say initiatives like this are important in equipping young people with relevant skills for the fast-growing digital economy.
