The Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, has urged Ministries of Education, examination bodies, schools, and other education stakeholders across Nigeria to embrace technology for faster, more efficient, and credible examination processes.
Speaking during the monitoring of the recently concluded WASSCE, the Commissioner revealed that 50% of the objective answer sheets for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the ongoing Unified Promotion Examination will be marked using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to eliminate human manipulation and improve the integrity of examination results.
Arigbabu also noted that Ogun State's continuous adoption of digital innovation under the Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda (OGSERA) has contributed to reducing truancy and raising academic standards across schools.
He encouraged other states to adopt similar technology-driven approaches to strengthen Nigeria's education system.
